Domain Recovered
The domain has been recovered but what will we do with this site? Andkev as been purchased to host a list of our sites and some of our internal information. I just don't know what to do with the rest of this.

Domain Lost

Well I guess I just lost it, someone unknown to me has purchased niveknet.com and they are holding on to it.  I am stuck so I am just going to assume that I will never have it again.  I have been working on changing the site structure so that nivek.imaginekb.com will work as the homepage for niveknet site and kevinboggus.com will be my portfolio site, eventually.

Failure to Launch

So far Niveknet.com has failed to meet its deadline for the beginning of the year to have redundancy and better reliability.  Battery backups have helped to improve up time but more backups are needed and replication has still not been restored to offsite server SRKB2K02.

I am working alone now it seems on this project and the server collection project has been brought to a halt because both Andrew and I are both so busy.  I have been working on my work site to show some of the projects I have done and am working on for my company.  I would be very excited to learn flash in this time and have a kick ass site, however, there are many other projects I have to work on and for now, this will have to work.

Coming Back for Phase II

Now that the rolling blackouts are over, we now have to deal with the problems of Phase II.  Currently we seem to have our main server back up and running and a backup server is also operational.  A few more critical components are needed to finish up the loose ends but once that is done we hope to have full network redundancy once again.

Thank you for your patience with this matter.

Rolling Blackouts

Niveknet has had some stability issues caused by the power outages brought on by hurricane Rita.  Because of rolling blackouts and our current state of server locations, we cannot expect to have uptime all of the time.

Unfortunately, because of the Phase II project, conflicts arisen that were not foreseen, this will cause further delays in the Phase II project.

Updated Network Layout

Because of the indefinite outage of the Galveston branch, i thought it was time to update the network image.

And because we have to have a backup.  This is the proposed image of Phase II.  Galveston is still visible but it is not connected.  Because it may come back online sometime this year, it is still on this map.

 • A look at the Current Network Layout

A new look at the new layout:

Waco was added to the network as well as a server relocation.  Plans to have a server at each branch is now the new plan, with file replication allowing all users to store data on the server safely.

 • Waco & CLGREG01 Joins The Nivek Network

After nearly a year of trying to get a client in Waco setup, it has finally happened.  We now have a Waco VPN setup.

What does this mean for Niveknet?  Nothing really, it is just nice to know that our plans to extend the network to a fifth location actually worked.

What does it really mean?  It means now, if my brother has a problem, he can ask for my help without having to make a trip.  It means that our network virtual storage has reached nearly 800 Gb.  It means that i need to get a new computer and more HD space.

 • Now Promoting Mozilla

I have been using Sunbird for a few months now and i really like it, i hope that with the work that Mozilla is putting into it makes it a great product i know it can be.  That being said I wanted to help the Mozilla Project by promoting some of the greats they have out at the time.

Get Firefox! Get Thunderbird!

And now there is Nivek News, the icon, i know it is silly but it is what i do
